What a challenge! A fresh and unexpected invitation to create a choreography to go with a poem written by James Joyce, with music composed by Krunchie Kileen, the brother of the sparkling impresario, Patricia Killeen.
This was the very first time I’d heard or met Krunchie himself. And we were live… in front of a huge, fortunately welcoming community in Paris and accompanied by the other talents of Les Invincibles, as well as the vibrant Paddy Sherlock.
The space was far bigger than I was used to, an alas open windy air! I had to both control my golden cape so it wouldn’t flap over my face and let it fly exuberantly! Video and editing courtesy of David Henry, photo by Olivier.
